SCCM 2016 TP5 | What’s new in System Center Configuration Manager 2016 (TP5) and how to install !

Hi Geeks ,

SystemCenter2016scmb sccmlogo

What’s new in System Center Configuration Manager 2016 TP5 ?

This release adds the following additional capabilities:
◾Diagnostics and Usage Data
◾Service a server cluster
◾Support for SQL Server AlwaysOn for highly available databases
◾Deploy Windows Business Store applications
◾App deployment to Windows 10 devices with on-premises MDM
◾Compliance settings for Windows 10
◾Improved workflow for creating mobile device configuration items
◾Updates for Windows 10 in-place upgrade
◾Updates for bulk enrollment of Windows 10 devices with on-premises MDM
◾Deployment of required applications to Windows 10 devices managed via on-premises mobile device management (MDM) – You now have the ability to deploy required applications to Windows 10 PCs and mobile devices managed via MDM with on-premises Configuration Manager infrastructure. This is in addition to the capabilities that were made available in the first and second technical previews, allowing you to manage Windows 10 devices using Configuration Manager integrated with Microsoft Intune (hybrid) without the need to store your data in the cloud. Note: An Intune subscription is required.
◾Cluster-aware settings – Servicing a cluster just became easier! With this third technical preview, you can deploy an update to a cluster while controlling the percent of servers that are online at any given time, and specify actions to run pre- and post-deployment.
◾High availability support with SQL Server 2014 AlwaysOn – Using SQL Server 2014 AlwaysOn Availability Groups, you now have improved support for both high availability and disaster recovery for the Configuration Manager database.
◾Ability to run software update cleanup tasks – You can now schedule and run Windows Server Update Service (WSUS) cleanup tasks from the Configuration Manager console.

Prerequisite:

In my example, i take this configuration:

Note: The installation process of TP5 is the same that the TP3 version.

SCCM TP3 Alias 2016 Now Available | Update for System Center Configuration Manager Technical Preview 3

Hi to all,

scmb

cropped-systemcenter2016mb

A new update is available for System Center configuration Manager TP3 !

What’s news?

  • Combined end user portals – A unified portal experience is now available for end users, where all company approved software will be located for end users to discover and install. With this change, applications previously available only in the Application Catalog can now be viewed in the Software Center.
  • Client piloting to preproduction – You can now deploy and test updates to the Configuration Manager client using a pre-production collection while leaving your current client version in use by the remainder of your hierarchy. You can try this scenario with an updated client version that we are releasing as part of this update for testing purposes.

To enable this update, go to the “Updates and Servicing” node in your System Center Configuration Manager Technical Preview 3 environment. If don’t see the update in your console, see the TechNet documentation here which provides a workaround.
